23andMe is seeking an outstanding Sr. Software Engineer who wants to challenge and push the boundaries of technology and science. You will define and design compelling new features, and contribute innovative solutions to challenging engineering problems to make those features real and perform at scale. You'll lead by example and share your product delivery, wisdom, wit, and experience across the team. What You'll Do

• Deliver well-designed high-quality code on time in collaboration with a cross-functional team, primarily supporting our Lemonaid Telehealth business 
• Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed, documented architecture and design
• Fully own the SDLC
• Decompose problems and communicate technical solutions
• Perform code reviews. Follow and refine coding standards
• Balance quality and delivery
• Be a mentor, multiplier, and cultural fit

What You'll Bring

• BS in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 6 years’ industry experience, real-world experience delivering production quality code
• Demonstrable proficiency with PHP 
• High level of knowledge around the Angular framework (any version) and JavaScript
• Experience testing and debugging Javascript and Angular applications
• Good knowledge of Git, NPM, NVM, Gulp, Webpack, HTML, CSS
• Unit & functional testing as a way of life
• Understanding of AWS tools like SQS, SNS, RDS, ElastiCache, ECS, Fargate
• Understanding of and adherence to REST principles
• Knowledge of SQL (MySQL)
• Working knowledge of Python 
• A team player attitude with comfortability operating in a highly collaborative environment
• Ability to work with minimum supervision to deliver well-designed high-quality code on time
• Security best practices
• Plus: familiarity with GoLang
