23andMe is looking for a talented ninja Project Coordinator to join our growing Program Management team. This individual will help streamline internal IT & Security team processes and track progress in cross-functional projects with our stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Track project health and progress from project initiation through closure; build reports for project sponsors and stakeholders
  • Orchestrate alignment within and between teams to make sure everyone is on the same page
  • Help teams prioritize between unplanned tasks/operational work and long-term planned project work; keep them focused on doing what is important
  • Identify risks / blockers; work with technical managers and team leads to mitigate obstacles
  • Develop and maintain project-related documentations, including meeting agendas, meeting minutes, workflows, and project dashboards in Smartsheet
  • Assist in scheduling and facilitating project team calls

 

What You’ll Bring

  • 2-3 years of biotech/software industry experience as a project coordinator, customer support, administrative assistant or similar operations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to interact with individuals with diverse (technical / non-technical / regulatory / business) backgrounds. Able to communicate clearly and effectively (you're a master at being succinct) whether with engineers or executives
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to bring different backgrounds across functional groups and work styles to work in harmony. You know how to build consensus among competing perspectives (conflict resolution) and can rally teams positively towards objectives
  • Team-oriented problem solving. You are a team player and love to collaborate! Teamwork and community is important to you and brings out your creative side
  • Organization. You are detail oriented and can shift from one topic to the next without skipping a beat. You are the type of person who enjoys alphabetizing your bookshelf
  • A growth mindset and a self-motivated learner. You are eager to learn all about IT and Security. You take initiative and follow through while embracing change

 

Strongly Preferred

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Smartsheet, JIRA, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.); you're fully comfortable collaborating in an online/cloud-based environment (e.g. Google Apps, Smartsheet, Slack, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related area of study; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a technology field
